Are we killing our children?

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Did you know that the average life expectancy for your children is approximately 10 years shorter than your own? Here, in this passionately delivered TED talk, Jamie Oliver shares his perspective on what’s happening right here, right now all over the Western world – parents, schools, society – we are feeding children with food that ultimately will damage their bodies and affect their health. And it’s happening all over.

Two years ago, my cousin died – her body just couldn’t take any more. They had to get special equipment in to lift her body out of her home into the hearse to take her to the funeral home. When she was buried, she took up two plots rather than one. She was 42.

How to harness your Feminine Energy? Look to the Moon…

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Just a reminder that next week we have the first monthly call for 2010 with Donna Heath. She’s called the group the New Moon Wish Group, as the calls help you focus on your dreams and desires and start you actually planting the seeds to get those dreams going. You can read Donna’s own description of the group by CLICKING HERE.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been joining in with Donna’s New Moon calls for the past 6 months and I’ve loved every one. They are all different – with a different mood and tone, depending on which astrological sign each New Moon is in. Each moon has its own energy, which is where Donna helps you guide and direct your own energy and bring it into alignment with the moon’s energy.

Sonia Choquette works her magic in this wonderful workshop on Spirit. Sonia has her audience singing, breathing and raising their vibrational levels. She explains the 6th sense, living as a creator, listening to your spirit, emptying the brain and the differences between the 4 chambers of the heart.

Ideally, watch this with someone else so that you can join in the exercises – become a Diver and a Container to be able to hear your True Purpose…
Sonia asks; What is your best creation in your life so far? please share your comments…

I Wish to let go…

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

I interviewed Jennifer Lee, Creativity Coach, today for the Journeys series (I will post it this Friday) – another wonderful call. Well, she tweeted later and I was curious and I followed her link to Jamie Ridler’s site… What a lovely place to visit! Jamie encourages her readers to share their Wishes every week in her Wishcast Wednesday, in the spirit that “there is great power in wishing together” (like the battery power of MasterMinding!).

So, it’d be rude not to join in! Here goes, I’ll cast a wish and share it – this week’s wish from Jamie is What Do I Wish to Let Go?

3 Steps to Better Communication using just 3 Simple Colours

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Friday. WomenWorks’ local monthly meeting. Beautiful setting right on the ocean. (thanks Viv!) Sunshine. 16 Women. One presenter: Fiona Akers, looking gorgeous as usual. For an hour, she entertained us and got us thinking about the way we all communicate with each other, specifically, on how we can improve our communication skills using 3 simple colours.

Fiona, with her many years of experience in management and working with teams, maintains that the problems many of us encounter in our dealings with others are often due to the style of communication – the way we say things – rather than what we are saying, and that style is down to our personality type.

Have Fun Playing with Money

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

It’s been one of those weeks where the subject of money has come up time and time again in my own personal life and in the lives of just about everyone I’ve spoken to it seems. There’s a general sense of there not being enough to go round… it all seems a bit serious and fraught and not much fun at all.

What is a Blog?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

Many people I’ve directed here are pretty new to the whole blog concept. Often, they have preconceived and, more often than not, misconceived ideas about what blogs are, who they’re for and what their potential is.

The Power of Listening

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Napoleon Hill describes a ‘properly chosen Master Mind Group’ as ‘… a group of people who are willing to lend wholehearted aid, in a spirit of PERFECT HARMONY’. In most Mastermind groups that I’ve been part of so far, this has translated into dynamic pro-active group meetings where we share our experience, brainstorm ideas, discuss concepts and strategies and give each other advice. In short, the free-flow of conversation and debate is, for many, one of the most wonderful aspects of being part of it all.

If I had a million dollars right now…

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

In my current mastermind group, we’re using Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’ as a springboard for focusing each week’s session. This week’s chapter is ‘Imagination: The Workshop of the Mind’ (incidentally, the fifth of Hill’s thirteen Steps Toward Riches). It’s a great chapter, full of examples of individuals coming up with a single idea and running with it because they successfully engaged their own imaginations. Instead of seeing the problems and all the reasons why a thing can’t be done, they sought to find solutions, ways round seemingly insurmountable obstacles, and thus brought their ideas into reality.

Credit crunch mentality

Monday, October 20th, 2008

As I touched on last month, one of the strongest principles of Masterminding is the sharing of ideas – that more heads put together are better than one. When I first joined a group, I thought of this from my own point of view, in so far as that one of the benefits of joining would be hearing other people’s points of view and creative ideas on whatever we were discussing.

Re-Charging Your Mastermind Batteries

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

This week marked a major milestone in our family; our youngest son, Theo, who’s three, started school, joining his older brother in an expanding world of new people and new experiences. Despite having no friends yet, he took it all in his stride and the only thing that upset him was the fact that he’d dropped his ‘Treasure’ (a smooth piece of green glass found on the beach) on the classroom floor and broken it in two.
