Are we killing our children?

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Did you know that the average life expectancy for your children is approximately 10 years shorter than your own? Here, in this passionately delivered TED talk, Jamie Oliver shares his perspective on what’s happening right here, right now all over the Western world – parents, schools, society – we are feeding children with food that ultimately will damage their bodies and affect their health. And it’s happening all over.

Two years ago, my cousin died – her body just couldn’t take any more. They had to get special equipment in to lift her body out of her home into the hearse to take her to the funeral home. When she was buried, she took up two plots rather than one. She was 42.

Sada Nam Kaur began coaching people on their personal development long before coaching became a recognised profession. Trained as a management consultant in the banking world, she adapted what she was teaching in business and applied the same principles to help people improve their own lives. “When we begin to know who we are, we begin to take steps in our authentic path, then we blossom – and that gives me huge joy”.

Fill yourself with Light and Energy for 2010: a fun Annual Review in 4 Easy Steps…

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

We had fun in my Writers Group this week – we each did our own Annual Review! Yes, I know ‘fun’ and ‘annual review’ aren’t usually words that go in the same sentence. But hey, Chris Guillebeau from The Art of Non-Conformity is at the heart of this one, so they do!

Transforming the Light

"Transforming The Light" oil on canvas - work in progress

Not only was it fun, but the process was surprising and really useful too. Chris does a review every year at this time – he doesn’t wait until the New Year to look forward and make plans for what’s ahead. Last night in my monthly New Moon Energy call with Donna Heath, I learnt some more reasons why this part of December is a great time to plot the year ahead.

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Sonia Choquette works her magic in this wonderful workshop on Spirit. Sonia has her audience singing, breathing and raising their vibrational levels. She explains the 6th sense, living as a creator, listening to your spirit, emptying the brain and the differences between the 4 chambers of the heart.

Ideally, watch this with someone else so that you can join in the exercises – become a Diver and a Container to be able to hear your True Purpose…
Sonia asks; What is your best creation in your life so far? please share your comments…

Interview with Jennifer Lee: Creative Coach, Artist & Yogini

Monday, October 19th, 2009

JenniferLee“Going on a journey like this isn’t done in a vacuum – there are so many people who had been so incredibly supportive who had believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself…”

Jennifer Lee uses creative and artistic techniques combined with coaching to help people get out of their normal left brain modes of thinking and move towards a clearer vision of a more authentic way of being. ‘I help them awaken their inner muse – that creative, intuitive part of them that we sometimes lose touch with in our day-to-day lives’.

Interview – Andrew Hunter: Inter-Faith Minister & Spiritual Counselor

Monday, July 20th, 2009

andrew_hunter“Follow your heart, follow your curiosity… and don’t let anything stop you…”

Andrew Hunter’s journey has been one of constant change; from rural Scotland as a dreamy child, to the BBC as a radio broadcaster, from running his own successful health charity to a dramatic mid-life crisis that led him to question absolutely everything he valued in life.

Now, as an interfaith minister, healer and coach, Andrew helps people connect with their own individual spirituality, and guides them to be able to live life with more energy, more passion, more vibrancy, and with better health and well-being.

Getting Clear on What I Really Want – NEW iCourse!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Well, it’s been an interesting few months for me, diving into coaching full-time, working with some absolutely wonderful people and loving it! I’m so lucky to get paid now for what essentially is something I love. Do what you love, love what you do and all that…

But I know that it’s an elusive process – I’m still in it myself – finding yourself again after life seemed to have taken over for a while, re-connecting with what get’s you fired up on all cylinders, excited or impatient to get on with it – getting On Purpose, as Bob Proctor calls it.

The Inspiration of Success

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

So, I started this attempt at a 90 day trial many, many more than 90 days ago. Did I even succeed in following a simple habit such as reading my own personal Purpose, Vision, Goals statement out loud to myself twice a day for just 90 days or 3 months or a quarter of a year or 13 weeks, however you prefer to timeframe it?

No.

Did I then fail?

No.

I haven’t decided to quit yet, in which case this 90 day experiment is still underway, even if it’s taking a lot longer than 90 days! Read Chapter 8 in Think and Grow Rich on ’Persistence’.

Bower Birds

Friday, October 26th, 2007

We watched one of the many David Attenborough DVDs that mum sent through for the boys tonight – part of his ‘Attenborough in Paradise And Other Personal Journeys’ series. This one was on Bower Birds.

I just checked on Wilkipedia to see exactly how old Sir DFA is (81) and found out he was born on 8th May – the same as my grandmother, which makes me even more fond of him. What an amazing lifetime’s work. There he was on the DVD, a little bit slower than he used to be, but still the same David, explaining gently to camera as he traipsed through some Australian subtropical forest, the fascinating details behind the behaviour of the male bowerbirds in that neck of the woods.
