Discover Why You Are Here

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Sonia Choquette works her magic in this wonderful workshop on Spirit. Sonia has her audience singing, breathing and raising their vibrational levels. She explains the 6th sense, living as a creator, listening to your spirit, emptying the brain and the differences between the 4 chambers of the heart.

Ideally, watch this with someone else so that you can join in the exercises – become a Diver and a Container to be able to hear your True Purpose…
Sonia asks; What is your best creation in your life so far? please share your comments…

Work as Play

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

This week I’ve joined Mary Jaksch’s Virtual Zen Retreat: How to Turn Anxiety into Inspiration. What a beautiful course – thank-you Mary, Deb, and Miraz… I’ll be talking to Mary later this month about her work in the Personal Journeys series of interviews here, so watch this space.

In today’s Zen post, Mary shared this video by Alan Watts, filmed over 10 years ago talking about Work as Play, spontaneity, pleasure, Hindu philosophy, the atomic bomb, Dante and enjoying our lives. It’s so NOT like the 15 second attention span, hi-speed, blip-verts that we’re so accustomed to watching these days… change gear for a few minutes and maybe be inspired – he even sings at one point – magical!

Seriously Having Fun

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

It’s the last few days of the long school summer holiday here in Spain (12 whole weeks!) and I’ve been reflecting on how we’ve used our time together. Did we mainly use this gift or squander it?

Well, much of it was spent muddling along, trying to forge a home-based ‘routine’ that allowed David and I to both continue working, without depriving the boys (aged 4 and 6) from having us there with them and joining in with their time out. At the beginning, this felt like an almost impossible challenge – I mean 12 weeks!!

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

“recognise that it is a struggle… it’s not an easy task for most of us… its actually something you need to work at through self-knowledge and through courage… stick with it as much as you can, because the only way forward is to move forward…”

michaelbungaystanier1Are you doing Great Work? not just good work, but really Great Work? Michael Bungay Stanier asks the bigger questions and helps people focus on doing the work that has meaning and will make a difference. With his company, Box of Crayons, he’s created numerous practical tools to help others find their purpose and ’stop the busywork and start the work that matters’, including books, workshops programs and some inspirational Flash movies (links below).

10,000 hours to Mastery – The Ultimate Time Management Challenge?

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Recently, as is so often the case, the issues that come up in coaching sessions with my clients are also the ones that I’m also finding challenging in my own experience. So, as the long school holidays kicked in (12 weeks here in Spain!) and I had to completely re-assess my daily schedule, it was no surprise that time management and productivity came up with clients too.

Getting Clear on What I Really Want – NEW iCourse!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Well, it’s been an interesting few months for me, diving into coaching full-time, working with some absolutely wonderful people and loving it! I’m so lucky to get paid now for what essentially is something I love. Do what you love, love what you do and all that…

But I know that it’s an elusive process – I’m still in it myself – finding yourself again after life seemed to have taken over for a while, re-connecting with what get’s you fired up on all cylinders, excited or impatient to get on with it – getting On Purpose, as Bob Proctor calls it.

Decide…procrastinate…Create…disintegrate

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

So, with the help of the Think and Grow Rich course, I’ve now got two goalcards – how did that happen? One I wrote weeks ago on a tiny card I’ve been carrying around with me in a mini copy of the Tao Te Ching, in a subliminal attempt to form two new daily reading habits at once – read my goals and take in a bit of the wisdom of Lao Tzu at the same time. (I haven’t quite succeeded in forming this new habit yet, but it’s early days…).On this card, I’m working in my studio every day, making great artwork, being successful, showing and selling in galleries in New York, London and Madrid, travelling, meeting new people, visiting friends all over the world as a family, having fun, being happy… simple as that.
